Yuba Bicycles Rewards Community Bike Heroes with the Chance to Win a Utility Bike

Sausalito, CA  -  This Season of Sharing, Yuba Bicycles seeks to recognize people using bicycles to serve their communities, and reward a good Samaritan with a Yuba Mundo v4 utility bike to use to further their cause.

Founded to help people achieve a better quality of life through eliminating the need for automobiles for everyday trips, Yuba Bicycles has focused on improving the product to better serve customers’ needs. Five years down the road, the company is excited to be in a position to give back to the community. Although Yuba’s earlier charity efforts focused on Africa, the current economic situation in the United States made it apparent that it was time to do something for American communities.

“I hope that this contest really helps people realize the variety of ways that people can help their neighbors and improve their communities,” said Steve Bode, Yuba’s Sales Director. “Over the years, we’ve gotten a lot of reports about people using their bikes for public service. It’s very exciting to have the opportunity to be able to celebrate and reward these local heroes.”

Nominations for the contest can be made on the Yuba Bicycles Facebook page until December 31, 2011.

A Mundo Hero could be anyone, from the person who volunteers to help others, to a civic leader who believes in the cause of sustainable transportation.  If you think a Yuba Mundo would help that person, we want to hear about them.  Nominate the hero in your community by writing a few paragraphs about them and submitting a nice picture of your nominee doing community service.  Post your entry on the Yuba Bicycles Facebook page before December 31, 2011.

Voting

Everyone will be able to vote for their favorite nominee from January 1 to January 15, 2012.  So contact everyone you know and ask them to vote!  The nominees with the most votes at the end of the contest will win.  You can only vote for one person.
